Administrative Personnel

Danny Reich began his job as Administrator of ACS in June, 2007. He has several years of experience teaching in Christian schools and working in youth and music ministry. His education includes a M.A. in Christian School Administration from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary and a B.A. in History from Northeastern State University with a minor in Management Information Science. He and his wife, Angelia, have two young sons, Danny and Andrew. Some of his hobbies include computer repair and networking, playing the trumpet and dabbling in military history. Mary Ray is the new Administrative Secretary.  The Rays moved to Bartlesville from Texas in the fall of 2002, so she is a true Texan at heart!  She had been a stay-at-home mom for twelve years and is excited to be back at work where her kids are.  She loves the atmosphere at ACS.  It is like having a second "church family". Mary is a firm believer in Christian education, and loves how ACS includes a Christian worldview in all subjects. She has been continually amazed at the growth in her children scholastically, as well as spiritually, since coming to ACS. In their spare time, she and her husband, Doug, enjoy doing home improvement projects, and they love to go camping. They attend Bartlesville Southern Baptist Church where they teach 5th grade Sunday School. Their three girls are Grace, Bridget, and Katie.
Valerie Modrell has worked at ACS since 2001.  She currently serves as Office Assistant and Teachers' Aide for the elementary teachers. She loves the people she works with at ACS. Her passion is working with young children. Valerie loves to see their eyes when the light finally comes on. She wants to see the Lord working in her life and in their lives. In her spare time she loves to do all kinds of crafts. She and her husband, Donald, attend Central Baptist Church. They have two grown children and five grandchildren.
Junior High and High School
Pastor Joe Auksela moved to Bartlesville in the fall of 1999 to pastor Westminster Orthodox Presbyterian Church and has been teaching at ACS since the spring of 2000. He has a BA in History from Covenant College and a Master of Divinity and a Master of Theology in Old Testament from Westminster Theological Seminary. He is currently teaching History (9th-11th) and Bible (9th-10th). His hobbies include cooking, reading, and traveling. He and his wife, Diane, have two children and three grandchildren.
Liz Cone graduated from the University of Kansas with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies. Her love of teaching and learning has led her to pursue continued education and certifications in secondary education and counseling. She currently teaches high school Spanish at ACS. Outdoor sports, traveling, coaching her kids in sports and being involved at Grace Community Church are some things she enjoys doing. She and her husband, Todd, have five children, Henry, Emma, John, Elise and Mary. When asked what excites her about ACS she replied, "I want my children to be lifelong learners and to have the confidence to share their knowledge and beliefs.  ACS facilitates these goals through the classical approach to education, in carefully selected curriculum and with a dedicated staff.  It excites me to give the gift of Christian education to my children."
Kevin Dray began teaching at ACS in August, 2007. He is a native of Bartlesville and returned in Fall 2005 after being displaced by Hurricane Katrina. His educational qualifications include a BA in English from Oklahoma Baptist University; M.Div. from Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary; Th.M. from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary; Ph.D. candidate, New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. He teaches Bible (7th-8th), Literature (9th), Greek II, Government and Economics.  One thing that attracted him to ACS is the Classical model of education that is implemented and all the educational opportunities it affords.  He is excited about making a lasting impact for the Kingdom, both now and in the future, through the lives of his students. He enjoys reading, music, cooking and spending time with his wife, Kara, and daughter, Grace.  The Drays attend First Baptist Church. 
Sarah Eppinger has been teaching at ACS since 2000. She has a BS in Mathematics from Dordt College. She teaches Elementary Music, Logic, Science (7th-12th) and Algebra.  She is also the Assistant Debate Coach. The thing she loves most about ACS is the classical Christian approach to education. She also loves her students and how supportive the parents are. Sarah's passion in life is to follow Christ. In education her passion is to get the "light bulb" to go on in her students' minds. Also, she loves chocolate! Her hobbies include reading, walking, cooking, playing the piano and doing cross-stitch, and she is a member of the Choral Society. She has lived in Bartlesville for six years and attends Westminster Orthodox Presbyterian Church.
Dalene Fisher is a native of Bartlesville and has a BS in Behavioral Science with an English Concentration from Oklahoma Wesleyan University. While pursuing her degree, she chose education courses for all her electives. In August of 2006, she joined the ACS faculty and currently teaches Elementary Art, Keyboarding and four classes of Literature. She loves ACS because her children are receiving a classical Christian education from teachers who genuinely care for them. ACS has become a part of an extended family for her kids. Her hobbies include art, cooking, reading and family activities. Her passion in life is to serve her family, find joy in simplicity and passionately embrace whatever comes her way! Dalene and her husband, Steven, have four children. Spencer, Kirsten, Ashlyen, and Stanley are students at ACS. The Fishers attend Grace Community church.

Christy Orphin joined the faculty in August, 2007 as our Calculus and Algebra II teacher. She moved to Bartlesville in 2004 and has been attending Oklahoma Wesleyan University since 2005. She will graduate in May 2008 with a Bachelors of Science in Secondary Math Education. She has three children and lots of animals. God has a set her on an extradinary path, and she looks forward to making a difference in the lives of young people. Reading and spending time with family are two of her favorite things. Being an eager learner, Mrs. Orphin always looks for new opportunities in every situation.
Amy Rice is our first ACS alumnus to join the faculty. She teaches the junior high History class. As a student at Oklahoma Wesleyan University, she is currently working on a Bachelor's degree with a major in English and a minor in History. She attends Grace Baptist Church. Reading, talking with her friends, playing the piano, and writing stories are some of her favorite things to do. In reply to the question of what excites her about ACS, Amy writes, "I honestly am excited by so many things in ACS. The students actually want to learn and become very passionate about gaining a Christian worldview. The teachers are amazingly knowledgeable and feel called to raise up godly, thinking individuals. The atmosphere of the school is one of enrichment, confidence, independence, and rigorous stimulation. The classical approach is, in my opinion, the best form of education available and is tailor-made to suit the aims of a Christian school.  God is truly glorified in ACS!"
Pastor Brad Swygard received his Bachelor of Arts with a major in Political Science and a minor in Philosophy from West Texas State University.  He graduated Magna Cum Laude from Dallas Theological Seminary with a Th.M. in Apologetics.  He pastors Grace Baptist Church in Bartlesville.  Pastor Swygard began teaching at ACS in the spring of 2000.  He has taught Logic, Junior and Senior Bible as well as Junior and Senior Rhetoric. In the fall of 2000, he started the ACS Speech and Debate Team and has had students at least break to quarterfinals every year at the State Tournament.  He loves teaching the students things that will change their lives.  He and his wife, Jeanette, have three children. Elementary
Mary Cole began teaching Fifth Grade at ACS in August, 2007. She has a B.S. degree in Secondary Social Studies Education from Oklahoma Wesleyan University.  One thing she loves about ACS is the unity of the teachers and students.  Her passion in life is serving God.  One way she does this is by teaching the Junior High Sunday School Class at First Wesleyan Church.  She loves to teach and spend time with her family. Some of her other favorite things are visiting with friends, shopping, reading, visiting historical landmarks, drinking coffee, and visiting neat coffee shops.  She and her husband, Kevin, have two children, Joshua and Madison, who both attend ACS. 
Caleb Gordon teaches P.E. at ACS. He earned a BSBA degree from OWU.  The way that Christ takes center stage in the children's education is one thing that Mr. Gordon likes about ACS.  One important part of his life is his involvement in the band "Caleb & Andrew".  He and his wife, Jamie, have three children, Hannah, Gabe and Austin.  Hannah is one of the Kindergarteners at ACS.  The Gordons attend Trinity Baptist Church.
Carole McIntire has taught the First and Second Grade class since 2005.  She has a BS in Elementary Education from Oklahoma Wesleyan University.  Carole is incredibly passionate about Christian education and loves teaching in a Christian environment where God and His Word are the foundation for every subject.  She loves to take a subject and make it come alive in the mind of a child.  Her hobbies include scrapbooking, cooking, baking, entertaining, traveling, playing the piano and shopping at craft fairs and antique shops.  She and her husband, Kirk, attend Grace Community Church where she is active with the children's ministry.  They have four children, Cara, Tucker, Addie, and Ellie, who are all ACS students.
Carolyn Morgan is a new teacher this year. She will be teaching the Third and Fourth Grade class. Carolyn has a BS degree in Early Childhood Education from OSU. Carolyn and her husband Jon have two children, Seth and Lindsay. She has spent the last 20 years of her life raising and educating her own children at home as well are serving in leadership positions at church and in the Bartlesville Christian Home Educator's Fellowship. Both her children took high school classes at ACS that enhanced their home program. Seth is a Maclellan Scholar at Covenant College and Lindsay will be a freshman this fall in the Torrey Honors Institute at Biola University. Carolyn has always been passionate about teaching from a Christian worldview and hopes to inspire her students at ACS towards excellence in their schoolwork as a part of their love and service towards God.
Jeanette Swygard has taught at ACS since 2000. She has a BS in Elementary Education with a math concentration from West Texas A & M State University. She teaches the Sixth Grade class. The thing she loves most about ACS is the freedom that she has to be able to show the students how God is central to every subject. One of her greatest passions is learning and teaching about how God is involved in the history of the world. She loves to read about history, watch the history channel and visit historical sites. Jeanette is amazed at God's use of men and the elements of His creation to affect His people. She is married to Pastor Brad Swygard.  Their three children attend ACS.
Denise Wall received her bachelor’s degree from West Texas A&M with an emphasis in elementary and special education. After spending several years home schooling her own two children, Denise spent a few years as a dedicated volunteer at ACS where her children now attend. She joined the faculty at the beginning of the 2006/2007 school year as the Kindergarten teacher. Denise feels ACS is a special place full of loving people who place God first in all things and seek to provide an excellent education for all their students. Her passion in life is her love for God, her husband and her children. Denise is passionate about teaching her children to glorify God in all that they say and do. She desires to serve others and show love and kindness. Her hobbies include interior design, reading and scrapbooking. She and her husband, Ray, and their two children, Lauren and Chandler, attend Grace Community Church.
